How to use and navigate in the app
To get the most out of the FormulaSync app,follow this step-by-step guide to convert formula column results into actionable, editable data inside your monday.com boards.
Step 1: Installing and Accessing Formula Sync
Install the app and open the integration recipe
- Open the monday.com Marketplace and search for Formula Sync.
- Click Install App and select the workspace where you want to install it.
- Open the board where you want to use Formula Sync.
- Click Integrate at the top of the board.
- Search for Formula Sync in the integrations list and select the integration recipe.
Step 2: Configuring the Formula Sync Integration
Set up the source and destination columns
- Select the Formula Column that contains the calculated value you want to sync.
- Choose the Target Column where the calculated result should be written.
- Supported target columns include: text, Email, Phone, Link, Numbers
- The selected target column will store the synced formula output as editable data.
Step 3: Choosing Output Formats and Formatting Rules
Configure how formula results should appear
- Select the appropriate Output Format for your formula result: Text, Email, Phone, URL, Coordinates, Number
- Use Advanced Formatting Options when needed:
Text Formatting:
- Uppercase
- Lowercase
- Capitalize
Number Formatting:
- Zero Padding
- Locale Formatting
Phone Formatting
- US Format
- UK Format
- India Format
- International Format
3. Review your configuration before saving.
Step 4: Activating and Managing Synchronization
Save the recipe and keep data updated automatically
- Click Save to activate the integration.
- Once saved, Formula Sync automatically performs a full board synchronization.
- Whenever data affecting the formula changes:
- monday.com triggers an update event
- Formula Sync recalculates the formula result
- The updated value is written to the target column
4. This ensures synced values remain accurate and up to date without manual intervention.
To Run a Manual Sync
- Open the Formula Sync Board View.
- Click Sync All Now.
- The app will process and update all items on the board.
Step 5: Monitoring Results and Managing Synced Data
Use the Board View Dashboard to review synchronization activity
- Open the Formula Sync Board View Dashboard.
- View synced formula outputs across board items.
- Check synchronization status to verify updates.
- Use Search and Filter tools to locate specific items.
- Copy synced values directly to your clipboard when needed.
- Click Sync All Now to manually refresh board data at any time.
